Mike
Davidson joined the Solon Stars as Head Coach in April 2002. He
came to us from Penn State University where he was an Assistant Coach to both
the Men's and Women's teams since 1998. Davidson trained the Lions to
their first Big Ten title (Men's in 1999 and Women's in 2002) and helped a
school record 12 Nittany Lions to the NCAA Championships.
He was a key element
in Penn State breaking 15 school records at the Big Ten Championships and three
more at the NCAA Championships. Davidson helped lead Penn State to another
strong finish at Big Ten's as well as a school best 19th place finish at the
2000 NCAA Championships. Davidson brings an extensive list of collegiate,
USS Swimming and high school coaching experience to the Solon Stars Swim
Club. He was previously the Assistant Men's and Women's
Coach at Cleveland
State from 1995-98. He was the Head Coach of the Cleveland Aquatic Team
from 1995-98 and the Senior
Assistant of the Worthington Swim Club in Ohio from
1993-95. Davidson also served as the Assistant Coach for Thomas
Worthington and Worthington-Kilbourne High Schools from 1993-95. He has
coached seven Senior National and 14 Junior National qualifiers in these
roles. A native of North Olmstead, Ohio, Davidson also received his
bachelor's degree from Cleveland State where he was a member of the Men's swim
team. Mike is also the head coach for the Solon High School Swim Team.
